Our beginners photography courses are for people new to photography or who find that they rarely, if ever move away from their camera’s AUTO feature.
These are small group courses with plenty of time to ask questions.
You don’t need an expensive camera, just as long as it has some functions to control shutter speed, aperture and ISO. The course is to build your confidence, it’s not about having the latest equipment!
After a coffee/tea (included in the price, as is a sandwich at lunch) we will show you how your camera works and its controls and introduce you to the principles of composing appealing images.
Then we will spend the rest of the day putting this knowledge into practice, so you should be dressed for the weather.
By the end of the day you will be able to:
- Understand and use the manual controls of your camera.
- Understand exposure.
- Understand how to compose a photograph that is pleasing to the eye.
- Understand light and how it affects your photographs.
- Understand the basics of colour and white balance.
