Oppidan Edge Street Manchester
Come and embrace the energy and urban grit of the Northern Quarter on our Manchester Street Photography Course.
This photography course is aimed at people who want to get more from their camera but rarely stray off the AUTO setting or for people with a bit more experience but who want the support of a small group course to shoot with more confidence out on the street.
We start the day with tea/coffee/cakes (included in the price) at Oppidan on Edge Street in Northern Quarter (it used to be called Ziferblatt) where our private class room session will refresh your memory of how your camera works and how Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO all work together and we’ll show you the principles of composition and looking for stories in what you see.
Then we will go out to spend the rest of the day on the streets, looking for interesting details that turn the mundane into the eye-catching or which tell a story. Depending on weather and how the group feels, we generally wrap up by about 3pm to 3.30pm, by which time we find that most people have learned all they can in a day. (Practical note..if you need to use the loo during the day, just nip back to Oppidan!)
We won’t be going very far, but you need to be able to cope with being mobile on busy pavements and street crossings for several hours once we have finished the classroom session.
To keep the quality of photography tuition high, there will be no more than 10 people on the course and it’s all about helping you feel more confident in your abilities. It’s definitely NOT about who has the flashiest camera.
We have been running photography courses in Manchester since 2014 and our tutors are professional photogrpaphers who are experienced in making everyone feel at ease and enjoying their day.
At the end of the day we want you to be a bit bit tired, full of ideas about how you want to develop your skills and happy that you’ve had a bit of a laugh with like minded people as well.
